Yesterday at the Adobe MAX conference, Adobe announced that they are going to go fully cloud based with their software. Lets just say that with that announcement that it caused an uproar in the Internet and people were almost up in arms. However this announcement is not the end of the programs or anything of the extent. Adobe will stop with hard copy products and upgrades via retail form, but they will be done via their cloud service. So what does that mean for people with hard copies of their product? nothing other then if you want to upgrade then you can via finding an retail copy of the program out there and try to upgrade, but before doing this please read why it is better to upgrade to the cloud vs. trying to hunt down some retail boxes.
A link to the conference if you want to watch it before we tell you why it is a good idea to go cloud:

So here is why you should go to the cloud…
- You get for the price of 49.99$ USD per month, and you get ALL yes ALL of the Adobe products! That includes Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and everything else that was being offer before in the master collection retail 2699.99$ USD.
- Updates, the minute that they are worked on they will be available to you and all applications that you use from Adobe Cloud. Also adobe is showing off new items that are going to be available as early June 2013.
- 20 Gigs of online storage. It may not sound as much but think of it this way. If you ever were working on a project and you were remote and needed to get the files to a printer, post editor or get them to safe keeping you can. What was the last time that you were able to send a 45 meg file via email? LOL
- The ability to have it on a Mac and PC, no need to purchase individual products to work on different operating systems.
- Adobe only checks the subscription to see if your still active, not this rumors that they are monitoring you 24/7.
- All of the benefits of having tech support. I have had horror stories about tech support but I can tell you this that with Adobe going fully on the cloud that they are going to ramp up tech support to help those in need.
- Also the more popular programs will be available for use without the need to go for the full suite. So if you only use Photoshop then you will be able to subscribe to just the program only at a lower cost. From what I saw on their site it will be for 19.99$ USD if you do the math, it is 19.99$ USD at 12 months that adds up to 239.88$ USD per year vs. paying 388.44$ USD. That alone is a saving from going to get the retail box edition of the program vs. going on subscription service.
There are other reason why you should get on this however I wanted to cover the main reasons why you should. I would love to get some feedback on what your thoughts are on this and what you feeling are about going on the cloud. Do you think that it is a great idea or will Adobe crash and burn?
